Thelma was Managing Director of Shaya Technologies (from 2004 – 2006 May), an Information Security company. She has an extensive background in security technology and has written a research paper on Internet crimes for her Honours thesis, for which she obtained a distinction. After achieving her graduate degree at Pretoria University she spent time as a Business Analyst at Denel( Dec 2002 – begin of 2004) before heading up Shaya.
Played an active role in establishing SHAYA Infosec as a respected BEE company that specializes in Information Security
Leading SHAYA winning a Microsoft Partner of the year Award for best Information Security solutions.
Currently employed by Fulcrum as a Senior Project and Program manager for large Projects
Col (Ret) George Ramaremisa - Blackstar Holdings Chairman
Col (Ret) GN Ramaremisa was born on 1 April 1947 and commenced his career as keeper of the peace in the South African Police Force. He was later transferred to the Venda National Police Force where he was Company Commander and Explosives Expert and eventually became the Commanding Officer of the Venda National Police Mobile Unit.
Between 1990 and 1993, he served in the Venda Military Government as the Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Works and Transport, Minister of Post Telecommunications and Broadcasting as well as the Commission for Administration respectively. Thereafter, he served as a member of the Defense Committee of the Transitional Executive Council and was a Member of Parliament and WHIP for the National Assembly.
He still serves in the Armscor Board as non-executive Director, an appointment he has held since September 2001; he is also a member of the Armscor Human Resources Management Committee.
Col (Ret) Ramaremisa was appointed as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve (AFR) Council in June 2002 and is the National Co-ordinator for the “Siyandiza” Programme.
He is a Senior Staff Officer of the Joint Aviation Awareness Programme amongst the youth
Andre Wolmarans – Director of Blackstar Holdings
After completing his studies in Aviation Electronics and Financial Management & Accounting he started his career in the military industry with Teklogic later renamed to Altech Defence System (ADS). He started off as a systems engineer and later on was contracted through Teklogic to Armscor as a senior simulator consultant for an overseas military project.
After returning to SA, after spending 3 years overseas, he joined BSW-Data as a project manager and subsequently as an industrial account manager.
After Plessey acquired BSW-Data in 1997 André sold his shares in the company and joined Nanoteq as a senior project manager before starting Fulcrum in 1999.
After leaving Nanoteq, André was contracted back to Nanoteq as a Senior Progammes Manager and Account Manager and later on contracted by Comparex International for managing major international projects.
André was appointed as Managing Director of Fulcrum in 1999.
As part of the organizational growth Andre took up the role of Group CEO in 2004, a position that he currently holds.
In 2006 Andre was appointed Director Strategy of the Blackstar board of directors.
